Each year, we support local charities from the proceeds of our events. Since 1990 the Marlow Half Marathon and Marlow 7 have raised over £200,000 for local charities.
Marlow Striders choose their supported charities in April each year at their AGM by democratic vote. Local organisations benefiting in previous years include the following:
Marlow Youth and Community Centre, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Carers Bucks, The Marlow Sports Club Appeal, Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, Marlow Age Concern, Wycombe Homeless Connection, Riley Park Trust, Thames Valley Hospice Care, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Marlow Opportunity Playgroup, St. John Ambulance (Marlow), The Child Bereavement Charity, Wycombe Night Shelter, Longridge on the Thames, Marlow Sea Cadets, Merryfields Family Support Unit, Maple School Hydrotherapy Pool, Marlow Guides and Brownies, Sir Aubrey Ward Home, Thames Valley PHAB Club, Chiltern Friends of ARMS, The Chiltern Society, Marlow Red Cross, Ian Rennie Hospice at Home, Marlow Squadron Air Training Corps, 3rd Marlow Air Scouts, Marlow Educational Trust 1st Danesfield Scout Group, Marlow Community Hospital, Red Cross Playgroup, Red Cross Holiday Project, Vulcan Venture Scouts, Bisham Woods Appeal, Marlow Cottage Hospital, and Red Barn Riding for the Disabled.
